NYU Parasitology Building
Feasibility Study + Building Restack
New York, New York
After an extensive search, NYU’s School of Medicine named a new Chairperson to continue elevating the reputation of their Department of Parasitology. As part of this effort, NYU retained BAM to prepare a feasibility study on the scope of work required to renovate this six-story building and provide complete architectural services.
BAM prepared a master plan to renovate the building including building re-stack, new labs for several areas of the building, upgrade all public spaces, create BSL2 Insectaries, change animal handling area, improve handicap accessibility, install new HVAC systems for new labs, and a new building wide emergency generator to pick up the full load of the building in event of a power failure. Working closely with the new Chairperson and NYU’s facilities department, BAM moved forward to implement the Master Plan as defined in the Feasibility Study we created.
